One of my regular guests from the United States has developed a routine every time he visits Cancún.

He enjoys a relaxing beach vacation, but he also visits local nurseries that specialize in tropical plants. Many of these varieties are far less common—and often much less expensive, or available only in Mexico than in the U.S.

He also buys collectible tequilas that are difficult to find back home, along with certain over-the-counter medications and dietary supplements that are legally available in Mexico, and are only for prescription and are much more expensive in the US.

After returning home, he resells these items to collectors or buyers who value their rarity and convenience on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace. According to him, the extra income always covers his vacation budget and even leaves him with additional profit.

2. Dental Tourism: Save Thousands While Enjoying the Beach

Many of my guests schedule dental treatment during their vacation.

Procedures such as:

· Crowns

· Veneers

· Bridges

· Root canals

· Professional cleanings

Often cost significantly less in Mexico than in the United States.
