Where Vacation Becomes Initiation – Chuburná, Yucatán, Mexican Maldives.

Some vacations are about rest. Others are about escape.

And then there are the rare ones—where you arrive seeking beauty and ocean air, but leave having met yourself in unexpected ways.

In the quiet coastal village of Chuburná, Yucatán, a very unique offering exists for those who feel the call to go deeper. MAJI Healing, Ritual & Holistic Experiences is not entertainment, nor spiritual tourism. It is an invitation—guided by passionate, deeply rooted women—into experiences that can feel like blessings, mirrors, lessons… and sometimes, necessary discomforts.

Because true healing is not always soft, and not every ritual is meant to be comfortable.

A Living Ceremonial Space by the Sea

Maji Healing Center is a living ceremonial space devoted to water, earth, plants, and ancestral remembrance. Rooted in Afro-diasporic, Caribbean, and Indigenous wisdom, Maji was created as a sanctuary for cleansing, restoration, and reconnection.

Here, water is not just symbolic—it is medicine. Plants are not decorations—they are teachers, and the body is not something to fix, but an intelligent vessel that remembers how to heal when offered safety, intention, and reverence.

Healing at Maji is never rushed or extracted. Nothing is forced. Nothing is promised. Experiences are invited, not imposed, and always guided with respect for the land, the local community, and the ancestral lineages that inform the work.

This is a bridge space—between cultures, traditions, and inner worlds—supporting emotional release, spiritual clarity, and embodied renewal.

What Brought This Collaboration Together

Maji was not built through strategy or branding. It emerged through resonance.

A shared love for humanity.A deep respect for how people heal across cultures. And a mutual understanding that healing work must be ethical, embodied, and in service to the collective.

The facilitators came together not to perform spirituality, but to steward it—with humility, integrity, and care for each individual’s dignity and sovereignty. This is work guided by alignment, not force.

The Women Holding the Space

Eva Laroi

Originally from Kenya and rooted in the Yucatán for over 16 years, Eva Laroi is an energy healer specializing in energetic cleanses using locally sourced and home-grown herbs, water, and intuitive practices.

With over five years of dedicated study, Eva supports people in releasing stagnant energy, emotional blockages, and physical tension. Her work is gentle yet profound—centered on water as a symbol of flow, adaptability, and renewal. Through herbs and intentional ritual, she helps others reconnect with nature and their own innate capacity to heal.

Sistah Yaya

A Jamaican-Haitian medicine woman, master herbalist, and ceremonial guide, Sistah Yaya is rooted in Caribbean and Indigenous healing traditions shaped by lived experience—motherhood, loss, rebuilding, and devotion to ancestral ways.

She facilitates ceremonies because she has seen how ritual, plant medicine, prayer, and intentional space can soften survival patterns, clear generational burdens, and help people remember who they are beneath responsibility and inherited pain. Her spaces are grounded, beautiful, spiritually honest, and deeply respectful.

These are not spa treatments. They are ritual experiences—some gentle, some confronting, all intentional.
